Add min/max to a numeric variable

Overview

The min and max attributes of a numeric variable limit the value that can be entered for a numeric variable.  

Required Role(s)

• Project Management

Steps

1. Open the Variable Update window (click here for steps)
2. Select the Attributes tab
3. Enter a value in the Minimum field which data values must exceed 

4. Enter a value in the Maximum field which data values cannot exceed

5. Select Continue

6. Select Save or Save and Return to save the changes to the variable group

Notes

• If data has been entered for the variable, min and max values cannot be entered
• If data has been entered, Min values can be decreased and Max values can be increased
• If the project is in test mode, the test data can be bulk deleted to clear the audit trail which will allow all changes
