Remove numbering from a variable

Overview

The Not Numbered attribute is only applicable if the variable group is set to display variable numbers.  If the variable group is set to display variable numbers, the default is for all variables to be numbered.  Checking the Not Numbered box will skip numbering for that variable.

Steps

  1. Open the Variable Update window (click here for steps)
  2. Select the Layout tab
  3. Check the Not Numbered box to stop the variable from being numbered
  4. Uncheck the Not Numbered box to number the variable (the variable group must be set for variable numbering)
  5. Click Continue
  6. Optional:  Select Preview in the left panel to view the variable group
  7. Select Save or Save and Return
