Variable Update (Pick List)

Overview

The Pick List tab of the Variable Update window is used to define pick list options for categorical variables (Pick List or Radio Button variable types)

Content

• D.O.:  The data entry display order of the pick list elements
• Miss.:  A check in the box indicates this is a missing value (e.g. Refused to Answer). A missing value allows the variable to be answered even when the answer is not known to distinguish between a missed question.
• Value: A value assigned to the pick list element

  Once data has been entered for a variable the pick list values cannot be modified

• Name: A label assigned to the pick list element
• Data Entry Override: The text visible during data entry, this field can be left blank
