Design (Data View Update)

Overview

The Design tab of the Data View Update page is used to specify the aggregation method to summarize a variable and the grouping, if any, of the data.  The variables that are included in the Data Set are available within the Data View.

Content

• Variables available in the Columns drop down list can be selected to group the data by the variable(s)

  Only categorical variables can be selected as columns

• All variables that are included in the Data Set are available in the first drop down list under Rows
• The variables that are part of the Data View are displayed in the right panel 
  

Actions

Add a variable:

• To group the data select a grouping variable in the Columns drop down list can and click Add   
• Select a variable to summarize from the first drop down list under Rows
• Select the aggregation method on which to summarize the variable in the second drop down list under Rows
• Click Add

Delete a variable:

• Click the Delete icon to remove a variable from the Data View
• Click the Find Usages icon to find where a variable is being used if it can't be deleted

Modify a variable's name or aggregation method:

• Click on the variable name in the Data View design
• Modify the name or description of the variable
• Change the aggregation method by selecting a method in the drop down list
