Add variables onto a report template

Overview

Variable codes are added onto a report template and when the report is rendered, the subject's values are displayed.

Steps

  1. Open the Report Template Update page (click here for steps)
  2. Add text into the report body by typing the text
    1. To copy text into the report body, it must not have any formatting attached to it (font type, font size, etc.)
    2. One method of stripping formatting is to past the text into Notepad and copy the text from Notepad to paste into the report body
    3. Use the formatting buttons to apply format, if needed
  3. Add variables into the report
    1. Method 1
      1. This method is best to use as the variables can be searched and selected minimizing extra typing
      2. Use the Add/Edit Expression button 
    2. Method 2 
      1. This method can be used if the variable codes to add onto the report are known
      2. Enter the following code onto the report body substituting the actual variable code for "code":  <%= #code %>

  5. Variable codes are displayed on the report in an easy to read format, click the Show/Hide code  button to toggle between the showing and hiding the code
