Overview

It is recommended to do some testing after upgrading StudyTRAX to a new version.  This page describes steps to add a test project, import data, and perform some steps to validate a StudyTRAX upgrade.

Required Roles

  • System Setup (to add test sites)
  • Project Management (to import test project)
  • Subject Management (to import subject data)
  • Data Set Management (to test Data Sets)
  • Randomization (to test randomization)

Depending on your familiarity with StudyTRAX these steps should only take 5-15 minutes to complete


 If the project and data are already in the account continue with step 3.

  1. Import the following test project:  Basic_test_project.xml 
    1. Check the box for Create sites that do not exist
  2. Import the following subject data:  Basic Test Project Import Data.xlsx 
    1. Check the box for Allow Subject To Exist
    2. Enter any text for Change Reason
  3. Validate Reports
    1. Select Reports from the main menu
    2. Click on the Auditing Report
    3. Enter the current date in the From and To fields
    4. Enter Test001 in the Reference ID field
    5. Click Submit
    6. Verify the report executes and it will display the data import actions from step 2
  4. Validate Data Entry
    1. Select Home in the main menu
    2. Select the Subject Search tab in the left panel
    3. Click Search in the Filter section (right panel)
    4. Click on Test001 in the Subjects list (center panel)
    5. Select the Dashboard tab in the left panel
    6. Verify all encounters in the Timeline have a complete status
      Tip

      Encounters with a complete status are greeen

    7. Open the Baseline encounter by clicking on the Baseline box
      1. Verify the sum and average are calculated
      2. Change the values of the first 4 variables and the calculations should appropriately change
      3. Scroll down to the Dependency form
      4. Verify My Var 1 is disabled
        Tip

        The variable's answer will be grayed out and cannot be answered

      5. Select radio button No for Disable next variable and verify that My Var 1 is now enabled
      6. Verify that My Var 2 is displayed
      7. Select radio button Yes for Hide next variable and verify that My Var 2 is hidden
      8. Select either Cancel or Save and Return from the toolbar
    8. Select the Attributes tab in the left panel and verify the Demographics data is displayed
    9. Select the Encounters tab in the left panel and click on the PDF icon next to any encounter to verify the file opens
    10. Select the Reports tab in the left panel
      1. In the Project Reports section click on Report across encounters
      2. Verify the report opens and the subject's encounters are listed
      3. Select Back in the gray toolbar
      4. Click on Example Report under any of the encounters
      5. Verify the report opens and data is displayed
      6. Select Back in the gray toolbar
  5. Verify a new subject can be enrolled in the project
    1. Select New Subject in the gray toolbar
    2. Enter a unique Reference ID and name
    3. Select Save and Return
    4. Select Basic Test Project in the Project selector box in the gray toolbar
    5. Click on Enroll Subject
