Overview

The chart function is used to add a chart into a subject report.  The chart can have multiple variables and can utilize a left y-axis, right y-axis, or both.  The x-axis is time using the encounter dates.

Steps to create a chart
  1. Click Add/Edit a chart
  2. The chart can be set up using a scale on the left y-axis, right y-axis, or both
  3. The x-axis is automatically set to time matching the encounter dates
  4. Left Axis tab
    1. Either select the variables to display on the chart or enter the variable codes prefaced with a # and separated by commas
    2. Axis Mode:  select an option from the drop down.  If Manual is selected, enter a Min and Max.

  5. Right Axis tab
    1. Either select the variables to display on the chart or enter the variable codes prefaced with a # and separated by commas
    2. Axis Mode:  select an option from the drop down.  If Manual is selected, enter a Min and Max.

  6. Options
    1.  Collection
      1. ENCOUNTERS:  Select to chart values from encounters
      2. MEDICATIONS:  Not applicable for charting
      3. User Defined: To create a custom collection (for example, if you only want specific encounters but not all of a subject's encounters).  A knowledge of JavaSript is required to create a user defined collection.  Click here for some examples.
    2. Alias:   Used in expressions to access encounter variables.  Variables in the repeater from an encounter will be prefaced with this alias.  The default alias is item.
    3. Maintain Aspect Ratio:  With this box checked, changing either the width or height will change the other attribute to maintain the same ratio.
    4. Width:  The width of the chart in pixels
    5. Height:  The height of the chart in pixels.
