Overview
The chart function is used to add a chart into a subject report. The chart can have multiple variables and can utilize a left y-axis, right y-axis, or both. The x-axis is time using the encounter dates.
Steps to create a chart
- Click Add/Edit a chart
- The chart can be set up using a scale on the left y-axis, right y-axis, or both
- The x-axis is automatically set to time matching the encounter dates
- Left Axis tab
- Either select the variables to display on the chart or enter the variable codes prefaced with a # and separated by commas
Axis Mode: select an option from the drop down. If Manual is selected, enter a Min and Max.

- Either select the variables to display on the chart or enter the variable codes prefaced with a # and separated by commas

- ENCOUNTERS: Select to chart values from encounters
- MEDICATIONS: Select to chart values from medications
- User Defined: To create a custom collection (for example, if you only want specific encounters but not all of a subject's encounters). A knowledge of JavaSript is required to create a user defined collection. Click here for some examples.
- Alias: Used in expressions to access encounter variables. Variables in the repeater from an encounter will be prefaced with this alias. The default alias is item.
- Maintain Aspect Ratio: With this box checked, changing either the width or height will change the other attribute to maintain the same ratio.
- Width: The width of the chart in pixels
- Height: The height of the chart in pixels.
