Roles
System level roles:
System Administration
Purpose: Create customers, monitor batch processes, and set system level configuration data
Pages Accessible: All pages below the System Administration main menuÂ
User Administration
Purpose:
- Assign and remove system level roles.
- Assign and remove customer level roles in any customer.
-Â Assign and remove workspaces in any customer.
Pages Accessible: System Authorizations, Customer Authorizations, and Add Workspace
Notes:
- The System Authorizations, Customer Authorizations, and Add Workspace pages are accessed from the User Overview page.
- All users can access the User Overview page for their own account, but need the System Setup role to access User Overview for other users.
Customer level roles:
Medication Management
Purpose: Create, update and delete medication and medication class definitions for the customer
Pages Accessible: All pages under the Medications main menu
Project Creation
Purpose: Create new projects
Pages Accessible: Project list page.
Notes: When a new project is created, the user that created the project is granted the Project Management role for that project.
Project User Administration
Purpose: Allow assignment and removal of project and project / site level roles
Pages Accessible: Project Authorizations
Notes:
- The Project Authorizations page is accessed from the User Overview page.
- All users can access the User Overview page for their own account, but need the System Setup role to access User Overview for other users.
System Setup
Purpose: Manage a customer's users, sites, and custom project and subject attributes.
Pages Accessible: All pages below the System Setup main menu
Notes:
- The users displayed are all users that have any access to the current customer.
- A user has access to a customer if they were created in that customer, have any customer, project, or project / site role in the customer, or have access to a workspace in the customer.
Project level roles:
Dataset Management
Purpose: Create, update and delete data sets, filters, medication groups and output intervals. Export data based on existing data sets. Create workspace reports.
Pages Accessible: All pages under Data Sets and Workbench main menus
Project Management
Purpose:
- Define a project's features and create its artifacts such as variable groups, intervals, and report templates.
- Delete a project.
- Import and export subject data
Pages Accessible: Project Overview and child pages.
Publish Reports
Purpose: Allow workspace reports to be published to a project
Pages Accessible: None
Notes: User needs access to a workspace to get to the workspace reports page, which has the publish function.
Query Management
Purpose: Create, update, and delete queries. Change a query's status.
Pages Accessible: Query Update
Notes:
- This page is accessed from the Subject Overview page.Â
- Users with the Subject Management role can modify a query, but cannot create, delete, close, or open a query.
Randomize
Purpose: Randomize a subject into a project
Pages Accessible: None
Notes: Subject Management or Subject Management Reader role is required to get to the Subject Overview page, which is where randomization is performed.
Reports
Purpose: Access to predefined reports
Pages Accessible: All pages under the Reports main menu.
Signing
Purpose: Sign and lock data for a variable group, either a the project or an encounter
Pages Accessible: Signing
Notes: Subject Management or Subject Management Reader role is required to get to the Subject Overview page, which is where signing function is available.
Subject Administration
Purpose: Manage subject accounts
Pages Accessible: Account Update
Notes: Subject Management or Subject Management Reader role is required to get to the Subject Overview page, which is where the Account Update page is accessed.
Subject Management
Purpose:
- Add and remove subjects from a project.
- Assign subjects to a site.
- Add, update, and delete subject data
Pages Accessible: Subject Overview and child pages that do not require special permission such a View Subjects Treatment.
Subject Management read-only
Purpose: View subject data
Pages Accessible: Subject Overview and child pages, but in a read-only state.
Subject Management Secondary (Double Data Entry)
Purpose: Add, update, and delete double data entered data.
Pages Accessible: Subject Overview and Encounter Update
Unsigning
Purpose: Unsign and unlock data for a variable group, either a the project or an encounter
Pages Accessible: Signing
Notes: Subject Management or Subject Management Reader role is required to get to the Subject Overview page, which is where signing function is available.
View Subject's Treatment
Purpose: For projects that use Double blinded randomization, users with this role have access to the subject's treatment name.
Pages Accessible: View Treatment Name
