Output Interval Group Examples
Overview
An Output Interval Group is a way of re-combining subject encounters into intervals.  Output intervals are used to apply encounters to different interval structures during the data export process. StudyTRAX allows the user to set up any interval structure and it will find the encounters closet to that output interval and put in that encounter's values in the data set.
Required Role(s):
- Data Set Management
Example of assigning multiple unscheduled encounters into a fixed interval structure
Subjects may have multiple non-fixed (unscheduled) encounters. For that reason when exporting a data set there is no way to collapse the intervals to have one row per subject. Non-fixed encounters must be exported with one row per encounter for each subject. Workbench reports cannot be created using non-fixed encounters since they do not have a pre-determined schedule.
However, using an output interval group a Baseline encounter can be created by selecting the first non-fixed encounter for the subject. A last follow-up encounter can be created by selecting the last non-fixed encounter for the subject. Using the output interval group in a data set will then allow collapsing of the intervals and creating workbench reports.
- To pick the first non-fixed encounter check the Baseline checkbox
