Overview

The Data Sets tab of the Workspace page lists all the data sets in the Workspace and allows new Workspace Data Sets to be created.

Content

Data Set Name: The name of the data set
Project Name: The name of the project used in the data set

Add a new Data Set

If any encounter variables are included in the data set be sure to include "Interval (Categorical)" from the Encounter System Variables as encounter variables must be grouped by their interval in the Data View

Data Set Name

Click the data set name to edit the Data Set

Find Usages of the Data Set

Export the Data Set

View Descriptive Statistics

Copy the Data Set

Delete the Data Set

A Data Set can only be deleted if it is not being used in a Data View

The Data Set can not be deleted

Use Find Usages to see the Data View in which the Data Set is being used

Considerations

Minimize the number of data sets used and the number of variables in each data set
Transform variables as needed for planned Tables and Charts (e.g., recoded variables, calculated variables)
Create filters as needed for specific Tables
Utilize "Output Intervals" to consolidate encounters
- Most common - First and Last visit only
Limit the encounters included in data to only those needed
