- "object reference not set to an instance of an object":
- one cause is a blank row in the spreadsheet
- possibly also if there isn't an 'intervals' tab (this may depend on the bat file)
- "exception trying to convert value of 'no' into type 'System.Double': "No" is entered where there should be a value
- A 'no' is entered instead of a value in a Missing Value
- A 'no' is entered instead of a value in a pick list option
- A comma is missing in the pick list options (e.g. 0,no Male)
- "Unable to process variable"
- The variable code may be a duplicate
Tips
- If pick list options will include commas in them, the name must be in quotes. For example: 1,no,"Yes, additional text"
- If pick list options have spaces, the latest import will accommodate the spaces
- If pick list options are specified but not imported, check the format of the column heading it can't be changed
