Why is a variable with a numeric calculation that was validated not working?

  1. One of the variables in the numeric calculation does not have a value (All variables that make up a calculation must have values unless the function is set up to accomodate variables with no entries).

    Some calculations are not valid unless all the values are entered, before allowing for unanswered values verify the calculation is still valid

  2. One of the dependant variables of the calculation includes missing values, and the calculated variable doesn't have the Include Missing box checked on the Attributes tab of the Variable Update window.

    The Include Missing checkbox refers to values that are defined as Missing Values, it does not refer to variables without a value entered
